it has a bleed effect that u will keep even if u unequip it and relog
so u just need to equip it for a sec to have that bleed effect

Can confirm, Ohadx just showed me it. Anyone who has equipped the Shadow Katana once has a permanent bleed effect on their melee attacks.

Is it a real bleed effect or just the graphics of a bleed effect?
